Insurance Claims procedures
Please note that it is a condition of your insurance policy
that all claims are notified by telephone or letter without
any unnecessary delay. Further more, full details are required
within 30 days of the incident.
Urgent claims
When damage or a loss occurs that requires immediate action
to prevent further loss or damage: -
1) During normal office hours Monday to Friday: 9.00 am -
5.00 pm, please immediately contact Residents Insurance Services
2) Authorisation for the work to proceed will be given, providing
the claim is covered by the Policy and depending on the amount.
3) A fully completed insurance claim form will be required
from you, supported by invoices, for the authorised work undertaken.
4) You will then be reimbursed with a settlement cheque.
Non-urgent claims
When damage or a loss occurs that does not require any immediate
action to prevent further loss or damage: -
1) Before authority can be given to proceed with the repair,
you will be required to provide: -
a) A fully completed insurance claim form.
b) Two estimates for the work from appropriately qualified
contractors.
2) Authorisation to proceed with the work will be given providing
the claim is covered by the policy.
3) Following our receipt of the final invoice(s) for the
completed, authorised work, you will be reimbursed with a
settlement cheque.
Following these procedures will ensure your insurance claim
is settled in the shortest possible time.
